Baari is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled within the app.
Data Collection and Usage
Baari collects the following information to provide its core functionality:
- Your Name: Provided by you during the initial setup to personalize the experience.
- Committee Details: Names, contribution amounts, frequency, and start dates for the committees you manage.
- Member Information: Names, phone numbers, and photos of committee members.
- Payment Records: Tracking of who has paid, payment dates, and any notes you add.
Storage and Protection
All data collected by Baari is stored locally on your device. Specifically:
- Committee and payment data are stored in a secure local database (Room).
- Your preferences and name are stored using Android DataStore.
- Photos you take or select for members are stored in the app's private internal storage, inaccessible to other apps.
- No personal data is sent to external servers, and the developer does not have access to any of your information.
Sharing Data
Baari does not share your data with any third parties, except in the following user-initiated case:
- WhatsApp Sharing: You can choose to share a summary of committee statuses via WhatsApp. When you use this feature, the app generates a text summary and hands it to the WhatsApp application on your device using a standard Android Intent. Baari itself does not transmit data over the internet.
Permissions
Baari requests the following permission:
- Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used exclusively to send you reminders about pending payments for your committees.
Backup and Restore
Baari provides a manual backup and restore feature. This allows you to export your data into a JSON file, which you can save to a location of your choice (such as Google Drive or local storage) using the Android Storage Access Framework. This process is entirely controlled by you, and there is no automatic cloud synchronization.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Deleting Records: You can delete members or committees at any time.
- Trash System: Deleted committees are moved to a trash folder and are automatically purged from your device after 30 days.
- App Uninstallation: Deleting the Baari app from your device will permanently remove all data stored within it, including all committee records and photos.
Third-Party Services
Baari is designed to be a private, offline tool.
- No Analytics: The app does not use any tracking or analytics SDKs.
- No Advertisements: The app does not contain ads or third-party marketing SDKs.
- No User Accounts: You are not required to create an account or provide an email address to use the app. Your identity is not tied to any online profile.
Your Rights
Since all data remains on your device, you have full control over it. You can view, edit, or delete your information at any time within the app settings or by uninstalling the application.
